Arbor
In words derived from Middle English (h)erber and earlier Old French (h)erbier; "herbarium", arbor or arbour (see spelling differences) may mean:
* Arbor (garden), a shaded sitting place, e.g. in a garden
In words derived from French arber, arbre and ultimately from Latin arbor, "wooden beam or part in an olive press, tree", always spelled arbor it may refer to:
* Arbor tree, a large, perennial, woody plant
* Arbor Day, a day for planting trees
* Arbor (tool), a tool used to shape machined work; a tool component that grips or clamps materials to be machined; or a tool component that grips other moving tool components
* Arbor, the steel frame of a fly system in a theatre that holds the weight that is used to counterbalance scenery and/or lighting.
* Arbor, the central post of a fishing reel to which fishing line is attached.
