această ramură. Federaţia Internaţională de Canoe are de asemenea
afiliată Asociaţia Europeană de Canoe-kaiac şi cuprinde şapte
discipline: kaiac canoe pe ape liniştite (flatwater - cel mai des practicat
în lume), slalom, kaiac canoe pe ape repezi, canoe polo, maraton, free
style şi dragonboat.

Acum vreo 40 de ani când practicam şi eu acest sport, aşa i se spunea, pentru diferenţiere de cei care se încumetă pe râuri de munte ... Şi mai scrian caiac cu „c”, convertirea la „k” pare să fie de factură ceva mai recentă
