"An actual aluminum annular (cylindrical) target contains a layer of high-density LEU foil [...]" ( http://engineering.missouri.edu/2012/06/radiopharmaceutical-... )
"I'm translating a text about nuclear energy, and I have found the next sentence:
"If highly enriched 235U targets were used, the reactor could satisfy almost all of Europe's needs for 99mTc once it becomes fully operational"
The "target" is a nucleus (of an atom) bombarded with electrons or other subatomic particles. Here's a passage from this document:
"Blanco" = "target."" ( http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=1467879 )
