c) The following advertising is not acceptable:

Politically offensive material
Weapons, including, but not limited to, firearms
Pornography
Comparative advertising that may work to the detriment of x
d) In general, advertising is preferred in page, spread, or gatefold formats. Certain
fractional advertisements, however, will be accepted as follows:
i) one-half (1/2) page, one-quarter (1 /4) page, one-third (1/3) page and
one-eighth (1/8) page units
ii) “banner” advertisements are acceptable at the bottom of the page or
on the side of the page only.
iii) the copy on “banner” advertisements must not imply any National
Geographic endorsement of any advertiser
