English term

piston & plunger

English to Czech Medical Medical: Instruments
Editing job.Context - medical device, syringe aligned/inserted into an injector head. Injector head has a piston, syringe has a plunger. Both are translated as pist. Shouldn't there be a difference?

posuvný jezdec injektoru & píst stříkačky

I was translating similar text before and the reviewer wasn't very happy with the word "plunžr" - according to him/her, it is a rather jargon word used in engineering/building industry.

píst a píst pumpy

Yes, you are right, piston and plunger are in Czech dictionary almost the same word, but for plunger you might used píst pumpy.
