Dutch term

beschikkingsruimte

Dutch to English Bus/Financial Finance (general)
as in "De aangeboden cheques worden in behandling genomen door bank XXX. Tijdens verwerking XXX wordt beschikkingsruimte klant lokale bank bijgewerkt"

It must be something like disposable funds or balance but I cannot seem to find the correct term.

disposable limits

In spite of the fact that the amount is not yet definitively approved on your account, the bank allows you ( partly) to dispose of this (or part of this) amount.

spending limit

In this context, "beschikkingsruimte" equals "bestedingsruimte", which is the total amount a client can dispose of, including any credit facilities (on a particular account).

The term "spending limit" covers this very well.

ABN AMRO has translated the term "bestedingsruimte" as "spending limit", as appeared from a "List of terms used in ABN AMRO Internet Bankieren" that used to be - but no longer is - on
http://www.abnamro.nl/nl/images/Generiek/Attachments/Bestand...

"Bestedingsruimte" ("Verruiming bestedingsruimte voor uw belggingen") has also previously been translated as "spending limit" by Buck - see link

I would not translate this as "available balance", nor as "available amount" because this might suggest that any credit is not included.

disposition limit

The limit is not disposable ;-)
The term used often is disposition limit. I think it better describes the "beschikkingsruimte".
