agree Jack den Haan : The context suggests exactly what your references say, but I think the author should have used the term 'waardeketen' instead of 'waardekringloop'.

neutral Jack den Haan : I think this is excellent from a linguistic point of view, but the context seems to suggest 'waardeketen' (see my response to Jarry's suggestion). Perhaps this was a pre-cofffee attempt on the part of the author, Dave!
