Hi - I'm trying to verify how "forud" should be translated in this phrase. This has to do with registering the bylaws of a condo association. Does this mean the easement and lien take precedence over all mortgage debt or simply that they're being registered prior to any mortgage debt?
Vedtægterne tinglyses både servitut- og pantstiftende forud for al pantegæld.
Thanks for your help!

I guess 'prior to' in registered rank, rather than in time, so not the Bylaws but both the easement and US Am.: lien UK: charge thereby created rank ahead of the mortgage indebtedness > gæld might be debt or debts: både servitut- og pantstiftende.
Note that a land lien in the USA is called a land charge in E+W.

Example sentence:
The primary purpose of specifying the “priority amount” is to ensure that any advances the bank makes to the level of the priority amount will rank ahead of any subsequent mortgage (and therefore any subsequent loans) given over the same property –
