Descriptive term
I can't seem to find a translation for this. I guess it is some kind of arch shape. What is being described is a tree serving as the basis for design.
Jeg studerede hvordan naturen havde løst problemet, for eksempel, et lineart forløb, der accentueres i et bueslag.
Thanks for any help.

arch shape
I think your guess is right . It is a line shaped as an arch, normally used as an architectural term as "et bueslag mellem to søjler".
But et slag kan also be a movement in a curve, so it makes perfectly sense here.
