Audición.
Los sonidos externos hacen vibrar el tímpano y esta vibración se transmite a través de la cadena de huesecillos al oído interno, en donde se encuentra la cóclea y el órgano de Corti. En esta estructura se generan impulsos eléctricos que viajan finalmente a la corteza del lóbulo temporal. Las vibraciones sonoras también pueden llegar al oído interno por transmisión directa a través de los huesos del cráneo.

agree Paula Sabirón : Audiometría: La ondas sonoras viajan por el conducto auditivo haciendo vibrar el tímpano y estimulando con ello los huesecillos del oído medio que se comunican con el oído interno donde encuentra el nervio que transmite el estímulo al cerebro.
