There was an interesting discussion that started on the SDL Trados forum on the subject of merging segments across paragraphs. There was an interesting discussion that started on the SDL Trados forum on the subject of merging segments across paragraphs. Unfortunately, that thread went nowhere as several posts related to it were hidden by a moderator. I'm therefore moving the topic as a separate discussion under this forum.

I tried to cover the topic in a video I made about one year ago:

In that video, I covered Déjà Vu, memoQ, Studio (2011) and Wordfast Pro. It seems Studio 2014 is still unable to do it, same with the latest Wordfast Pro (3.2.2). How about other tools? ▲ Collapse

For some file formats you can achieve it using Edit source in Studio, but it's not recommended officially.

Swordfish can merge segments. If for some reason there is a risk, it will let you know and you decide whether you want to merge or not.
