The customer's technical documentation service provider told me on the phone they will try to produce FrameMaker 8 files out of those FM 6 files but it m i g h t not work without messing up the formatting.
Pls specify the exact software version that can do any of the above two things.
We have researched the following:
Can handle FrameMaker 8:
Trados 2011 Trados 2009 Trados 2007 - which Build? Trados 7 - which Build? Wordfast Pro - which version? MemoQ - which version? Across - which version?
Can handle FrameMaker 6: No idea which software can handle this ... Anyone?

Framemaker 6 or 8 in STAR Transit NXT

Hi Sebastian I have many years' experience with Transit and know it can handle virtually any format. It will definitely handle Framemaker files. The problem is, that it's not cheap and the Framemaker filter will cost extra. I would contact STAR:

My user manual for Trados 2007 (Workbench 8.3.0.863 - Build 863) says:
S-Tagger for FrameMaker supports MIF files generated by FrameMaker version 4.0 or later, FrameBuilder, and FrameMaker+SGML 5.0 or later. It also supports Unicode-based MIF files generated by FrameMaker 8.0 or later.

Both use S-Tagger for this and I think S-Tagger supports Framemaker versions 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8... I think 4, the rest are fine. Studio handles versions 8, 9, 10 and 11 directly.
