TOEIC, PRO LEVEL - CORFO, Chile www.toeic.com, OTHER-University of Warwick in association with Universidad Chileno Británica, COTICH, 34 years of experience
Bio:English to Spanish and Spanish to English translator that does not belong to any Association whose translators don't ever make mistakes or refuse to be accountable for their mistakes or believe their mistakes are a positive value or hide under an umbrella so they can ke...ep making mistakes.
I am Katherine Cádiz, English - Spanish - English simultaneous conference interpreter and translator and I would like to present myself and offer my services in Chile and Latin America.
I was trained at the Pontifical Catholic University of Valpar...aíso, Chile, one of the very best in the field.
I have been working as an interpreter for many years in Chile, working as an online translator all over the world, and teaching simultaneous conference interpreting a few times in the Universidad de las Américas (that belongs to the Laureate International Universities network.)
Some of my current customers are Market Cross, Teradata, Aprimo, Redbanc, NCR, MAPTEK, the Colorado School of Mines, Grand Cru, Monticello, Sun International, Lexmark, Episys, AerGener, Implementation Services, International Paper, etc., so in terms of expertise, I have interpreted and translated a wide variety of technical topics, and I always become an expert in any technical field within a few days.
I am used to work with deadlines, to work in teams and under pressure, and I have complete availability to travel to any city in Chile or abroad.
To be honest, I feel a real passion about translating and interpreting, I love to meet new people and new cultures. And, since I am a sociable and friendly person, I do believe I fit perfectly in this job. And I think I like interpreting so much, due to I enjoy helping people.
To me, it is amazing to be in the middle of two parts and kind of turn myself off and become a bridge between people. It is like putting your mind and thoughts in pause, and allow others to communicate through you. The feeling of servility and importance is overwhelming.
So, summarizing, I really hope to get in touch with new people and new challenges. I just need the opportunity to prove how good I am.
Feel free to contact me if you need a quotation or if you are a Chilean colleague that needs some advice or a coworker. You won’t regret it.
