Translation - English Cannavaro arrives at the interview dressed completely informally. It’s a hot day, and he wears designer jeans, an honest smile, and a cotton shirt, through which you can make out the distinctive tattoos that cover his right forearm with the names of his children, Cristian, Martina and Andrea. Up close it is hard to imagine that this is the same imposing character and central defender who terrorizes attackers, no matter their size or power. How did this guy from Napoli break all the rules about the election of world player of the year, and see it awarded to an aggressively defensive player? More to the point, why are people afraid of him? He has the kind of teeth you see on a TV advert, a contagious smile that makes you want to have your photo taken with him to make your friends jealous, and eyes that ask you to take his hand more than fight him? Despite these characteristics, Fabio reigned as world champion with Italy in 2006 and was voted the best player of the year.
