I was born in Montreal, in the Canadian province of Québec. As Québec, a French-speaking province is part of the Canadian federation, I had the chance of being exposed to both English and French since youth. I would talk French at home, and study in English. This allowed me to develop leadership skills in the two languages. I began translation back in 2016 when I graduated from the French College of Montreal. Nowadays, I do translation in order to finance my university studies.
As a freelance translator, it’s important to be competitive in the translation market which immensely grew over the years. There is now considerable competition.
Competitive Prices.
The reason why I offer lower translation rates than what you can usually find on the market is to convince you to work with me. Nowadays, creating connections is vital in freelance. Those connections allow me to reach an ever-increasing number of individuals. As for you, becoming a part of my network allows me to work with you again.
Quality Above All.
Quality should always prevail over quantity. Thus, I attach particular importance to details while meeting the deadlines. That’s how I earned my place in the translation industry: Providing high-quality work to acquire reputation and credibility to encourage my customers to work with me again. This is the key to success.
Work experience.
French-English Translator / Freelance: Since June 2016
- Completing one-time translation requests. (Short stories translation, video subtitling, document translation, ...)
- Working with various companies on long-term translation projects. (application translation, website translation, ... )
- Ghostwriting for various blogs and websites.
- Proofreading French and English articles.
Why should you choose me?
French and English are the two languages that reign supreme over the business world. Therefore, they are the most frequently requested languages in the translation industry. As said earlier, the translation market is an extremely competitive industry. Hiring « office » translators are more expensive than freelance ones. However, freelance translators tend to provide results of lower quality than the official ones. Choosing me means opting for quality, speed, and lower prices.
Work samples of some of my previous works are available on my website.
I hope that we will work together in the future.
– Yours faithfully, Lucien Rousseau.
