BA in Translation from the Univ. of Brasília. Former intern at the Brazilian Senate Translation Office. Cambridge CAE certified in 2013.
My formal education (2012–2018) comprised many hours of practice in the large areas of translation: legal, technical, scientific, financial, and literary; not to mention training in subtitling, corpus, and translation tools.
About a year after entering university, I started working in the industry with clients ranging from multilingual vendors to government agencies and, more recently, in an internship at the Brazilian Senate Translation Office. Since then, I have translated more than 250,000 words, mostly in the areas of architecture, finance, legislation, education, and poetry (my personal passion).
In addition to it, I was informally trained in interpretation by an experienced colleague for more than a year and since then work as a consecutive and simultaneous interpreter, with more than 230 worked hours.
After all these years, I see translation not as a mere equivalence of words performed in a semi-automatic manner, but as something that demands a great knowledge of the deeper structure of languages and careful consideration.
