English to Spanish: Cultivo de Tabaco
Existen numerosos productos

Translation - Spanish Tobacco Cultivation
Argentine Republic produces tobacco in seven provinces at the North of the country:
Jujuy, Misiones, Salta, Tucumán, Corrientes, Catamarca and Chaco. The total national
production was around 220 and 230 million dollars in 2000-2001 harvests.
In Salta, in particular, Blond, Burley and Creole tobacco is cultivated.
It is important the appropriate selection of the field where tobacco is to be
cultivated. The best fields to cultivate tobacco are those that had been cleared and
have a rich organic layer. Soil pH must preferably be between 5.5 and 6.5 so that the
plantation evolves favourably and the leaf's nicotine content is better regulated.
In order to prepare tobacco beds, the soil must be uncloded carefully until 15
centimetres depth. The soil preparation must end with a rake so that an appropriate
bed for seeds germination is created.
Once the tobacco beds are prepared, before sowing, it is convenient to start with the
necessary treatments to avoid undergrowth, funguses/ fungi and insects that may
produce a great deal of damage to the sowing and may cause sowing failure. There
are numerous products to make this soil treatment among which the methylene
bromide is found.
