Versatile & Accurate


I have two and a half years formal study with Dutch and English being my majors toward a teaching degree. Being fluent in both English and Afrikaans has been extremely beneficial in being able to translate projects from both Dutch and Flemish into English.

I have been in the computer industry for 5 years during which I assembled desktop personal computers and installed the relevant operating systems and application software. On site, I was also responsible for installing the networks of up to 5 computers, with and without a server.

I have also had many years' experience in the installation, support and application of various software including DOS, Windows (various versions), Pastel accounting and payroll, Quickbooks accounting, Autocad Architecture, Planit Solid, Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, amongst others. When training the accounting software, I would set up our clients' charts of accounts from the information supplied by their accountants and would set up the report writer so that the clients would be able to produce an income statement and balance sheet based on the information entered. I have also done the required bookkeeping for 3 different companies.

Web design is another field in which I have had experience. I can be contacted for examples of sites I have designed.

I was trained in the education field and have home schooled my own children who are now in grade 10, in all their subjects.

Another area of expertise is construction, where I was responsible for the quoting, using a South African software called Billcost. I was liaison between the architect, the builder and the various contractors on site. Scheduling the purchases and the contractors was also amongst my responsibilities.

I have been considered a conscientious and diligent worker. My innate curiosity in needing to understand everything within my field, has led me to learn a multitude of varying skills which has stood me in good stead in many job opportunities.

I do all my work to the best of my ability and I have found that my clients, regardless of the sphere of work, are generally pleased with the quality of my work as a result.
