I am an American who grew up bilingual in France and Morocco. I worked for over 10 years for the French Embassy in the U.S., where my work involved daily written and spoken communication in both French and English, as well as the translation of speeches, promotional material, documents and more. I frequently served as an interpreter for visiting artists, and I organized countless cultural events.
I am now a freelance translator with clients in the U.S., Europe and Asia. I have experience with a variety of material, including:
-Government /international development: wide-ranging material such as speeches by President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton, daily press releases for the U.S. Dept of State on issues like human rights, food security, global warming; healthcare, military handbooks, weapons trafficking, and much more (French into English and English into French);
-Graphic novels and comic books: I am the award-winning translator of 260 comic books / graphic novels
for leading U.S. and European publishers since 2015. Books I have
translated have been reviewed in the New York Times, Publishers Weekly,
the Washington Post, the Guardian, the Financial Times, National Public
Radio, Entertainment Weekly and countless online magazines, blogs and
review sites. BRAZEN: REBEL WOMEN WHO ROCKED THE WORLD received the Will
Eisner award for Best U.S. Edition of International Material. COLORED:
THE UNSUNG LIFE OF CLAUDETTE COLVIN was just nominated for a Will Eisner
award in the Best Digital Comics category for 2020.
