English to Japanese: Psychological Impact of Disasters, Geriatric Mental Health
Source text - English The physical and psychological distress of being uprooted from one's residence or institutional setting during a disaster has been labeled "transfer trauma", implying that any disruption from an individual's normal surroundings in the chaos of a disaster leads to worsening anxiety, depression, and cognitive blunting.
The amount of time needed for the transfer and the individual's needs on the other end have been underestimated, leading to worsening anxiety and distress on the part of the older client.
Nursing home staff who have handled transfers of clients from their facilities have a wealth of experience and information and should continue to share this knowledge with program directors.
For example, nametags on all residents, many of whom have dementia and cannot give their name and are thus more likely to become confused, are valuable in reducing further psychological distress in these clients.
English to Japanese: "Light and Shade - Jimmy Page Biography", published
Source text - English "Once in Wales we played this sort of huge lavatory, and the promoter said, 'You start at ten, but whatever happens,
don’t stop playing until we tell you to stop.' And we’re thinking, What the fuck is going to happen? There was nobody in the place— nobody!
Then at eleven o’clock, the girls started coming in. They were pissed out of their brains, stumbling around and vomiting on the walls. And then at eleven thirty, the pubs closed and the guys came in and they just started fighting
each other. One guy threw a chair and smashed this guy, who was standing in front of Eric, in the face.
Eric had just bought a new white Telecaster, and this huge stream of blood came flying across the room and splattered all over the front of it. We were playing a Chuck Berry number, and we’re both saying to each other, 'Whatever you do, keep playing . . . for God’s sake, keep playing!' "
Translation - Japanese 「
