I took a degree in Foreign Languages (German and English)
in Milan in 1986.
Soon afterwards I started an in-house cooperation with a
translation company which lasted a couple of years and made me learn the skills of translation.
For 10 years I was Marketing Assistant in a German multinational company in the food-packaging industry.
For over 20 years now I have been a freelance translator from German and English into Italian for major private customers and LSP's.
I've translated all sorts of technical papers (from patents to user manuals).
Specific skills in translation:
Use of field-proven translation and localisation techniques and strategies.
Familiarity with many product, industrial and also scientific lexical areas (mainly: industrial packaging, industrial plant engineering, elevators, textile, food, precision measuring instruments, environment and health).
Domestication of target texts according to the selected channels, tools and recipients of internal and external corporate communication.
Special attention devoted to terminological accuracy and clear and effective communication, particularly in the transcreation of promotional materials.
Use of dedicated Software (Trados Studio 2021, MemoQ). MTPE.
