I just discovered this not-so-new singer called Kathi McDonald. Still today, she is one of the most sought after duet and back-up singers in the industry.

When I am translating, sometimes I listen to music and sometimes not. It all depends on the work, if it is a straightforward text file I usually listen to music, if it is something highly specialised or with lots of details (text boxes and the like) I prefer silence.
When I do listen to music, I like Céline Dion, Vera Lynn, ABBA and two collections I have, "100 years of music" and "International Hits". | | | Many-many things, but mostly "World music" | Apr 18, 2010 |
In my HDD you can find all sorts of music, from classical music to Middle East traditionals.
Lately, I am stuck with a radio station, Antenna 1 Travelling Radio from Rome, available here:

I can not work without them...
I am actually not listening to their music while working, just hearing it. Sometimes after finishing working and closing the computer, I try to remember the songs I heard and it is weird that I can not remember anything, just parts of songs, mixed songs, but not lyrics. So, I am sure that I am 100% concentrated on my work, but need them in my ears.

I discovered I can work with Radiohead in my head since I was a student. I was living in hostel and needed my silence to study. They are the best solution. They don't make noise
Great off-topic question! thanks ▲ Collapse

I see there is a wide variety of behavior, and that is probably good. But I could not listen to anything while working, at anything. I don't like background music at all. When I put something on I want to actually pay attention to it. "Workplace radios" are a real nuisance in my opinion. I cannot understand why so many people cannot tolerate silence. But I know I am in the minority. It's good there is a variety I guess, as long as I don't have to listen to it. | | | I like good music ;) | Apr 19, 2010 |
At home, when working or relaxing, anything I classify as smoooth jazz; also smooth classical music.
When driving long distances – Pink Floyd, The Doors, Janet Joplin, Sting, Peter Gabriel, and maaany others of the kind.
And lately falling in love (again) with Dhafer Youssef.

Music is one of the most important things in my life (as I am a musician myself) but I do not listen to anything while working, I need total silence.
Well, except for the noisy construction next door driving me crazy!
