With a drum brake the brake shoes are pressed apart by a cylinder and the brake shoe is lined with ferrodo, the same material brake pads are faced with. In your doc the shoes are probably called ganasce both when they’re lined and just for the metal shoe part without the lining. If in doubt they’re probably talking about a brake shoe. guarnizioni are the linings on the brake shoe and ganasce are the brake shoes in the drum brake "
