Is there are a way to fix the segmentation rules (e.g., adding an exception expression) so that Wordfast will not split a d create new paragraphs after each full stop?
We have a text full of "U.S. whatever" and Wordfast has created a new line starting with all those "whatever".

Segmentation style -> Wordfast/Trados
End of segment markers (ESM): choose "." (the full stop)
Untick "An ESM followed by a space followed by a lower-case letter ends a segment"
It should work.

You can also add the "U.S." to the abbreviations setting so that Wordfast understands that "U.S." is an abbreviation and will not create a new segment.
Go to Preferences -->Segmentation Settings
At the bottom of the screen that opens there is a field called "Abbreviations", select the language (so in this case "English") and in the white field underneath a line of text that reads "(separate by comma)" write all the abbreviations you usually encounter separating them by commas.... See more

Bear in mind that Wordfast already has some abbreviations there (they come by default) so just add yours after the last one (remembering to separate them using commas)

I'd looked for ways to avoid this happening and now know how to. As the OP says, it can be a huge time waster.
Thanks.
