This job posting must presumably be answered only by those willing to work for a pittance, and who know no better...

Wonderful faux-pas.

Indeed Nov 10, 2002

On the other hand, if it turns out they do pay high rates, those of us who specialize in Mexican Spanish will have a field day.

(Ah, the joys of working in a market niche that is currently in high demand...)

Yo desde ayer estoy con cara de signo de pregunta por esa oferta laboral.

Saludos näive desde la lluviosa Buenos Aires,

yeah, but a niche that calls exclusively for naive translators of Mexican Spanish is so super-specialized that there may not be any of those available anywhere...

I'm not so sure... Nov 10, 2002

I have to say I do have one Mexican acquaintance naive enough to want to pass herself off as a translator simply because she\'s bilingual. Think I should let her know about the job posting?

Ok, so let me get this straight.

First you agree it was a typo, and then you interpret it verbatim?

It was a typo, as you can see if you click in the posting. Sure there are tricky mean employers out there, but not to that point, I hope You guys have a good one.

Of course it is a typo Nov 11, 2002

But a very interesting typo. Makes you wonder about the poster\'s ulterior motives.

Anyway, I don\'t know if answering to a posting from a person with a free e-mail account is a naive move; I prefer not to do it, though.

From a naive Mar 10, 2004
