I got an e-mail from a LSP, saying:

Your test translation was approved by our revisers

But I don't remember doing any test for them.

Could this be a new form of scam?

@Peter Dec 17

That's odd. If it is a scam, it's a new one AFAIK... Good luck!

That's weird! Dec 17

Did you check their email address to make sure if it refers to a specific company or not?
If yes, check in your emails to see if you have communicated with them before or not?
Also, you can ask them when you have submitted this test for them exactly.

Depending on all this, you will figure out if the are scammers or not. All the best.

No traces found Dec 17

Well, thing is, I don't find any trace of them in my e-mails. It's just that I don't want to exclude the possibility something got lost, or that I did something via Proz.com of which I don't have a trace on my pc.

Just ask Dec 17

Ask the person who sent you the email to send you a copy of your alleged test translation - after you've verified their email address. If there's no reply, then you know it's a scam.

Possibly Dec 17

Somebody might have just mistaken you for another vendor. Sometimes I do get emails that are not intended for me to receive.

vendor plaform Dec 18

Well, they probably have company name in their email, so check if they have vendor platform and maybe you took the test over there.
If not, than it's a scam.
