Hi fellow translators,
Please be warned of a new whatsapp job scamming system.
Contacted directly through whatsapp, only given first names and link to online website of Mister Bilingue in France.
Whatspp conversation goes like this:
Hi , I'm Amber From MisterBilingue Recruitment Agency, Are you interested in a remote position/flexible role? We are offering Part time /Full Time jobs currently across France. Many roles are available in all fields, all sectors. Salary 100-500 EUR per day, salary is billed daily. Benefits - (There will be one proficient to give training) - Flexible time - Work from home
The requirements : - France citizenship / Permanent Resident (PR) - Own bank account to receive your salary - Age 22 years and above
Can I share brief details with you? Can I ask the HR manager to send you the list of available positions and their wages so you can first look at them and get a better understanding of them?
Next contact: Later another person contacts you on whatsapp this time proving their legitimacy by directing you to the Minority Marketing website. Again, only first name and generic photo. They say they "cannot" use email and they have no logo or business details because they are only a freelancer.
If you ask for credentials they dodge the issue and give you an excuse. Please be on the watch for these types of messages.
Fake job offers via WhatsApp are quite an old scam. Just think a little bit: Why would any serious client offer a job using WhatsApp (or Telegram)? If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck

...as this forum has shown many times, there are many people who will acknowledge that it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, but then hopefully conclude that it is an otter.
