Total 77 thousand Euros for proofreading.
So who maintains that rates are too low on Proz.com?

On my request the person in charge responded:

"No, it wasn't a mistake. How I wrote, I am waiting for the quotations from the translators. That is why I put a completely irreal price..."

Regards
Heinrich

In that case... Jul 31, 2009

I'd be more than happy if I could proofread just ONE single word a day

She could use some guidance, perhaps Jul 31, 2009

The price field is not a required field in the job posting form.
She could have left it open - many outsourcers do - instead of putting in a nonsense price.
Many people may interpret it as a typo for 0.11/word, and if it is not what she was thinking of, that could cause misunderstandings and waste of time on both ends.

I believe this is a case where the outsourcer may benefit from some instruction, guidance from Site Staff (as there are no Job Mods anymore).

I submitted a support request on the job posting.

Ah! Jul 31, 2009

... Playing with our needy wallets indeed!
And with our ethics.

I would offer a "completely irreal" proofreading, see how they like it.

I think the poster is mad Aug 2, 2009

at the fact that he had to fill in a price in that cell. In his opinion, it is up to the bidder to give a price and to him it is weired that he had to put a price by himself.
