I began last year after an online course for translators but stopped two week later. I didn't know what to write actually, but I made an effort just to start with it. Since months I haven't post anything but now I like it and feel good by sharing things I learned in my previous work experience.

That's something I deal with as well.
I would recommend to make a to-do list for if you ever loose your inspiration.
It works for me...

Yes, one of my New Year resolutions was to start a blog and I've really enjoyed the experience. It's good to write freehand for once, rather than being constrained by translating a source text. I've been lucky enough to receive really good feedback from colleagues, which spurs you on to write more. I haven't found it difficult to think of topics to blog about, yet at any rate. Possibly when you work and live alone, there are subjects that you want to sound off about and a blog is a great place to do that! Inspiration usually strikes on my daily dog walks, but I try and blog at least once a month as otherwise it could take over and there is work to do, after all.

Nice blog Claire! Lots for me read today as I procrastinate...

I think it would be nice if Proz would have a "blog reader/feed" page. A page you could go to that would show you the latest posts from translation blogs (like feedly or the old Google blog reader for Proz). Default would be all blogs submitted (as long as they have something to do with translation or languages), but you could "unsubscribe" from some if you wish (ones in a language you can't read).

Great pub

Great publicity for bloggers since each new blog post would be at the top of the page. A win for Proz as this would be yet another membership advantage.

Thanks Jeff - and great idea! May 12, 2014

There are some really good translation blogs out there and I think it would be a great idea for ProZ to feature them. As you say, the only problem then would be having time to read them all...
