A particular client of mine seems to be having problems sending and receiving emails to and from my ISP, which has just caused problems with an especially tight deadline. I have access to FTP servers of other clients, I was just wondering how I could set up my own so that this client and I can transfer files more quickly.

Can anyone make any suggestions?

If you handle bigger files, or simply don't want to mess around with FTB setups or even with having an FTP client on you computer, you should use the big capacity services as www.megaupload.com, www.dropload.com, www.yousendit.com, etc.

If you don't want to use third-party software, you need Windows XP Professional or Vista (an edition that contains IIS Admin)

Install the Internet Information Services together with FTP Publishing services from your Windows media, start the IIS and FTP service, go to Administrativ Tools/Internet Information Services(IIS) Manager, configure the settings (folder, number of users and connection time, password -not recommended- etc.) You may have to open the 21 port on your firewall. edit1: you need a fix IP address
