Spell checker stopped working (Office XP professional)

Hi, can somebody advise on how to reinstate the spell checker files on my Office XP(UK version)?
Office came with the default English spell checker, and I then transfered 2 files for the Italian spell checker (MSSP3IT.DLL and MSSP232.DLL), that I had on another computer. These files have always worked on Office XP, and have followed me around every time I changed computer.I have copied them in the normal "proof" folder, where all the other proofing tools are, but now none of them works!...
