This was a intensive paid work experience opportunity and my duties included: subtitling using English, Italian and Spanish. Subtitle reformatting (setting in cues and out cues, and timing subtitles accordingly) script translation for voice over and dubbing, audio transcription, and dialogue script writing. Software used: SPOT. Project Management included dealing with three major company regular clients. Dealing with a variety of films and trailers, sending the information to freelancers via the company’s accessible internet film site, setting and organising costs and deadlines. Freelance experience:

I have been a freelancer full time and part time since 2003 and professionally since 2007. I’ve been working in translating, interpreting proofreading and subtitling. I specialise in audiovisual translation and work as an interpreter for the Public Service sector. I also manage my own translation team as a Project Manager on a freelance basis this is in general and audiovisual translation. This includes liaising with clients about costs and deadlines, working together with a variety of different freelancers to meet deadlines and quality standards, putting all projects together to send to the client and meeting their needs, changing and amending translations after projects have been finish to meet customers’ recommendations. Very high level of customer service is required and vital in order to keep reputation.
