I have more than 10 years of experience in translation from English, Italian, French and Russian into Romanian and Moldavian.

My previous translation jobs include extensive translation of various legal, marketing, and commercial documents, as well as interpreting. I also translated academic articles dealing with all aspects of linguistics, terminology and translation theory.

I am highly experienced in making glossaries in various fields.

In my translations, I use the latest online tools and dictionaries.

I love my job. I always pay extreme attention to:
• the message understanding,
• the genuine expression in the target language, and
• the accurate use of terminology.

• Translation of official documents of the European Parliament/ Commission (the Community acquis) from English or French into Romanian (volume: 789 pages);
• Creation of a French/English to Romanian glossary before translating any legal text.

• Checking, editing and proofreading of the TNC database technical terms and their translation from Romanian or Moldavian into French, English and Russian.

Ph.D. in philology

• Doctoral thesis title “Terminology of the penal international law in the Romanian and French documents (differences and correspondences)” (written in Romanian). You can see here the French summary.
• Creation of a terminology database in Access that contains more than 2,000 international penal law terms in Romanian and French.

2002-2003
Master’s degree in Translation and Terminology (English and French)
Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca (Romania), Faculty of Letters, Modern Applied Languages Department
• Dissertation title “Translation of the EU acquis in the field of environment” (50 pages translated from French into Romanian are analysed.);
• Tradutech 2002 (December) and 2003 (March), a European professional translation simulation program realised in team with other students. We realized the translation of technical texts with pictures from French into Romanian and made a terminology glossary.
• Collective translation of Michel Bourse’s book "Un parcours pour l’embauche" from French into Romanian during the Translation course held by prof. dr. Tudor Ionescu.
• Creation of the glossary: "E-mail terminology in English, French and Romanian".

1996-2001
Bachelor’s degree in Modern and Classic Languages (translator for French and English languages)

• Thesis title “French youth slang and its translation” (written in French);
• Translation and interpretation courses from French or English into Romanian or Russian and vice versa.

Authorisation and certificates

December 2011 - June 2012: Course of Cost Accounting Technician, 600 hours (of which 240 hours of traineeship), ENAIP, Biella, Italy.
2011: Certificate of Knowledge of the Italian Language CELI3 - University for Foreigners Perugia;
2007: Sworn translator and interpreter for French and English languages, certified by the Romanian Ministry of Justice (authorisation no. 19192/2007).

Translation traineeship

February – April 2001: legal translation in the field of public service and administrative court form French into Romanian (about 100 pages) for the Ex-lege NGO, Chisinau, Republic of Moldova.
