Source text - English DIGITAL CONNECTION
If you have a SAT receiver, DVD player or CD player with a digital output, you can make use of an optical digital cable (not supplied) or coaxial digital cable (not supplied) to carry the audio portion of the signal and enjoy Dolby Digital sound quality. One optical or coaxial cable is needed for each SAT receiver, DVD player or CD player.
When optical or coaxial cable is used, the analog audio cables are still needed if recording through a tape or VCR is desired. This receiver provides one optical and one coaxial digital input for the connection of your components. Please connect your components (e.g. DVD, SAT or CD) to the appropriate digital inputs and press DIGITAL INPUT to select the corresponding digital input source.
Note: Optical and coax cables carry only the audio portion of the signal. A video connection must also be established for a SAT receiver and DVD player. S-video provides the best connection for the video portion of the signal. Composite video (yellow RCA connector) can also be used. It is important that the same type of cable (S-video or composite) that is connected from the Home Theater to the TV is used to connect the SAT receiver or DVD player to the Home Theater.

Source text - English Research on plant nutrition generally falls into two classes. Most laboratory experiments have been short term excised root studies to examine the kinetics of the initial uptake processes. Most greenhouse and field experiments have been more concerned with the final yield and plant composition than with the uptake patterns during the season. However, the needs of today require us to manage our crop systems not only to obtain maximum yield and nutrient use efficiency, but to do it with a minimum of environmental pollution by excessive fertilizer applications.
Successful management requires the supplying of the correct amount of nutrients to the plants at a time when they can best use them. This means we need basic plant physiological knowledge on the nutrient requirements of plants at various stages of growth. Loneragan (8) has discussed the confusion in the use of the term "nutrient requirement." It has been used to describe the concentration of nutrients in the solution in which the plant is growing and also the nutrient content of the plant at optimum growth. Whereas our primary interest is in determining the minimum solution concentration of a nutrient that permits maximum yield, the nutrient content of the plant is important in understanding the response of the plant to different nutrient levels.

Source text - English Proteins were the first examples of polyamides (a fancy word for nylon). Both share many common traits but they are very different in how they are made and in their physical properties. They are alike in that the both contain amide linkages in the backbone. Amides are made from carboxylic acid groups and amine groups through the loss of water. The amide molecular segment is unique in its structure and intermolecular interactions. Because of the hybridization of the nitrogen, carbon, and oxygen of the amide group, the segment is basically flat. More importantly, the hydrogen on the nitrogen and the carbonyl oxygen are capable of a strong interaction called a hydrogen bond. Because of this, the amide groups like each other some much that they form strong associations that give amide-containing polymers unusual properties.
The differences between how nature does nylons and how we do it is striking. We mostly make nylons from molecules that have lots of CH2 groups in them. They possess four, five, or six CH2 groups between amide units. Nature, however, is much more economical, choosing to use only a single carbon between amide groups. What nature does differently is to substitute this carbon with lots of different functional segments and groups.

Source text - English This invention relates to a novel process for producing selectively and in a high yield the Z-isomer (cis-isomer) of a cephalosporin antibiotic having a 2- (4-substituted or unsubstituted-thiazol-5-yl)vinyl group as the 3-substituent, or the Z-isomer (cis-isomer) of such a 7-amino-3 [2-(4- substituted or unsubstituted-thiazol-5-yl) vinyl] -3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid or a protected derivative thereof which is utilizable as an intermediate for the synthesis of the said cephalosporin antibiotic. This invention also relates to a novel process for producing efficiently and in a facile way a highly pure Z-isomer (cis-isomer) of a 7-[2-(2-aminothiazol-4-yl) -2- alkoxyiminoacetamido] -3-[2-(4-substituted or unsubstituted- thiazol-5-yl)vinyl] -3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid, or a 7-amino-3- [2-(4-substituted or unsubstituted-thiazol-5-yl) vinyl]-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid or a protected derivative thereof.
This compound is an excellent cephalosporin antibiotic called as “Cefditoren”. The excellent antibacterial activity of Cefditoren against gram-negative bacteria is attributable to the fact that the Cefditoren compound has the Z-configuration such that the cephem ring and the 4-methylthiazol-5-yl group of Cefditoren are connected in the cis-configuration to the carbon-carbon double bond of the 3-vinyl group of the Cefditoren molecule.
The above-mentioned 3-(2-substituted-vinyl)-cephalosporin antibiotics including Cefditoren, or intermediates usable for the synthesis of said antibiotics may be prepared by various processes. As one of the processes available for the production of these antibiotics, there is known a process using Wittig’s reaction.

Este compuesto es un excelente antibiótico cefalosporínico conocido como “Cefditoren”. La notable actividad antibacteriana del Cefditoren frente a las bacterias gram-negativas es atribuida al hecho de que la configuración Z de dicho compuesto presenta el anillo cefem y el grupo 4-metiltiazol-5-il del Cefditoren conectados, en la configuración cis, con el doble enlace carbono-carbono del grupo 3-vinil de la molécula de Cefditoren.
