Source text - English *Who do you want to be?*
Once you’ve decided what kind of story you’ll be telling in your game, you decide who your character is—what they look like, what they’re good at, and what they believe.
*What Kind of Characters Can I Play?*
Think about the setting that you’ve decided to play in and make that your main guide. Are you playing in a school for young sorcerers? Play a young sorcerer! Are you playing space pilots fighting an evil empire? Play a space pilot! Make sure your character has a reason to interact and cooperate with the characters the other players are making.
*How Do I Make the Character?*
Now it’s time to start writing stuff down. Grab a pencil and a copy of the character sheet. Some people like to use form-fillable PDFs on a laptop or tablet computer. Any of that’s fine, but you definitely want something that lets you erase and change.
*Aspects in a Nutshell*
An aspect is a word, phrase, or sentence that describes something centrally important to your character. It can be a motto your character lives by, a personality quirk, a description of a relationship you have with another character, an important possession or bit of equipment your character has, or any other part of your character that is vitally important.
Aspects allow you to change the story in ways that tie in with your character’s tendencies, skills, or problems. You can also use them to establish facts about the setting, such as the presence of magic or the existence of a useful ally, dangerous enemy, or secret organization.
Your character will have a handful of aspects (between three and five), including a high concept and a trouble. We discuss aspects in detail in Aspects and Fate Points—but for now, this should help you get the idea.
*High Concept*
First, decide on your character’s high concept. This is a single phrase or sentence that neatly sums up your character, saying who you are, what you do, what your “deal” is. When you think about your high concept, try to think of two things: how this aspect could help you, and how it might make things harder for you. Good high concept aspects do both.
Examples: Feline Captain of Cirrus Skimmer; Suncaller of the Andral Desert; Chief Field Agent of IGEMA
*Trouble*
Next, decide on the thing that always gets you into trouble. It could be a personal weakness, or a recurring enemy, or an important obligation—anything that makes your life complicated.
Examples: Steel Assassins Want Me Dead; Cast Now, Ask Questions Later; Gotta Look Out for My Little Brother
*Another Aspect*
Now compose another aspect. Think of something really important or interesting about your character. Are they the strongest person in their hometown? Do they carry a mighty sword known through history? Do they talk too much? Are they filthy rich?
Optional: One or Two Additional Aspects
If you wish, you may create one or two more aspects. These aspects might describe your character’s relationship with other player characters or with an NPC. Or, like the third aspect you composed above, it might describe something especially interesting about your character.
If you prefer, you can leave one or both of these aspects blank right now and fill them in later, after the game has started.
*Name and Appearance*
Describe your character’s appearance and give them a name.

*Quina mena de personatges puc ser?*
Penseu en l’ambientació en què heu decidit jugar i convertiu-la en la vostra guia principal. Que jugueu en una escola per a joves bruixots? Sigues un jove bruixot! Que jugueu a pilots espacials que lluiten contra un imperi maligne? Sigues un pilot espacial! Assegura’t que el teu personatge tingui un motiu per interactuar i cooperar amb els personatges dels altres jugadors.
*Com creo el personatge?*
Ara és hora de començar a apuntar coses. Agafa un llapis i una còpia de la fitxa de personatge. Hi ha qui prefereix fer servir formularis PDF que es poden emplenar en un ordinador portàtil o una tauleta. Qualsevol d’aquestes opcions està bé, però definitivament et cal alguna cosa que et permeti esborrar i modificar el que escrius.
*Aspectes en poques paraules*
Un aspecte és una paraula, expressió o frase que descriu una cosa de gran importància per al teu personatge. Pot ser un lema que marca la vida del teu personatge, una peculiaritat del seu caràcter, la descripció d’una relació que tingui amb un altre personatge, una possessió o una peça important de l’equip que porti o qualsevol altra part del teu personatge que sigui de vital importància.
Els aspectes et permeten canviar la història de manera que s’ajusti a les tendències, habilitats o problemes del teu personatge. També pots utilitzar-los per a establir fets sobre l'entorn, com ara la presència de màgia o l'existència d'un aliat útil, d'un enemic perillós o d'una organització secreta.
El teu personatge tindrà un grapat d’aspectes (entre tres i cinc), incloent-hi un concepte principal i una complicació. Expliquem a fons els aspectes a Aspectes i punts de fortuna, però de moment això us ajudarà a entendre la idea principal.
*Concepte principal*
Primer, decideix el concepte principal del teu personatge. Aquest concepte és una expressió o frase que resumeix perfectament el teu personatge, dient qui ets, què fas, quin és el teu "rotllo". Quan pensis en el teu concepte principal, intenta pensar en dues coses: com et pot ajudar aquest aspecte i com et pot complicar més les coses. Els bons conceptes principals compleixen tant una cosa com l’altra.
Exemples: Capitana felina de la nau Llamp de Rellamp; Invocador del Sol del desert d’Andral; Agent en cap de l’IDGEM
*Complicació*
A continuació, decideix allò que sempre et fica en problemes. Pot ser una feblesa personal, un enemic recurrent, una obligació important... qualsevol cosa que et compliqui la vida.
Exemples: Els assassins d’Acer em volen mort; Primer invoca, després pregunta; M’he de fer càrrec del meu germanet
*Un altre aspecte*
Ara crea un altre aspecte. Pensa en alguna cosa ben important o interessant sobre el teu personatge. És la persona més forta de la seva ciutat natal? Porta una poderosa espasa famosa al llarg de la història? Parla massa? És fastigosament ric?
Opcional: un o dos aspectes addicionals
Si vols, pots crear un parell d’aspectes més. Aquests aspectes poden descriure la relació del teu personatge amb altres personatges jugadors o amb un PNJ. O, com el tercer aspecte que has creat anteriorment, pot descriure algun detall interessant sobre el teu personatge.
Si ho prefereixes, pots deixar un o tots dos aspectes en blanc al principi i emplenar-ho més tard, un cop hagi començat el joc.
*Nom i aparença*
Descriu l'aparença física del teu personatge i posa-li nom.
