The burden of cardiovascular disease (CVD) is enormous, from both a clinical (mortality and morbidity) and a societal (economic and emotional) perspective. In regard to the clinical burden, CVD is the number one cause of death in Europe, killing over 4.3 million people in Europe each year and accounting for nearly half of all deaths in Europe (48%) and in the European Union (EU) (42%).[i] CVD is predicted to remain a leading cause of death: in 2015, an estimated 20 million people around the world will die from some form of CVD.[ii]
As for the morbidity associated with CVD, in addition to the clinical impact, the sequelae of CVD have far reaching societal consequences as the legacy of non-fatal CVD events is endured not only by the patients, but by the community in which they live. CVD comprises 23% of the disease burden in Europe, which includes both illness and death.1 CVD incidents like heart attack and stroke typically result in long term patient disability, straining family and public financial resources. There are also emotional consequences, with negative impacts on the emotional health of patients and carers. With an aging population in Europe and marked increases in obesity and diabetes (two co-morbidities implicated in CVD), CVD will continue to be one of the most significant public health challenges facing European countries for years to come.
The financial burden of CVD is onerous, with an estimated €192 billion spent annually on CVD in the EU.1 This annual costs include both direct health care expenditures, such as inpatient care, primary care, and outpatient care, accounting for 57% and the indirect costs, such as lost productivity, accounting for 21%, as well as the informal care of people with CVD, accounting for 22%.1 Of the direct CVD health care expenditure in the EU, 22% is due to coronary heart disease cost (CHD) (€24 billion), of which over 52% is for inpatient care. Also, of the total CVD health care expenditure in the EU, 17% is due to stroke (€18 billion), of which over 80% is for inpatient care.1 The cost is borne by both affected families, the public health authorities (national payers) and private health care managed payers.

Source text - English 11.1.1 Any electrical connection area shall be clean and free from any contaminant, paint, or other finish that could reduce electrical conductivity. Chromate finished surfaces do not require masking or spot facing.
11.2 TAPPED HOLES
11.2.1 Tapped holes in ceramic parts should be avoided wherever possible. Thread engagement in ceramic material shall be equal to one screw diameter or 0.200 inch, whichever is greater.
11.2.2 Screws or bolts shall have a minimum thread engagement length equal to 1.5 times their nominal diameter. Tapped holes for mounting nameplates or other nonstructural purposes need not conform to the above engagement requirements.
11.3 SELF-THREADING SCREWS
11.3.1 Thread cutting screws shall have the standard minimum thread engagement length equal to their nominal diameter. The thread engagement length shall not include the tapered portion of the screw.
11.3.2 The heads of the screws must be fully seated and shall not be loose or the hole stripped out.
11.3.3 Chips formed by thread cutting screws shall be removed or captivated.
11.3.4 Self-threading screws usually do not require locking devices.
11.3.5 Self-Threading Screws in Extruded Slots (e.g. - Elongated Holes)
The use of machine screws self-threaded into extruded slots, shall conform to the following requirements:
A. All screws shall have the standard minimum thread engagement length equal to their nominal diameter. The thread engagement length shall not include the tapered portion of the screw.
B. Threaded inserts or studs should be used where frequent disassembly may occur.
