Source text - English The coronavirus pandemic has been tough on the global call-centre industry, and nowhere more than in the Philippines, the world leader in the field. Hundreds of thousands of employees in the former U.S. colony field queries from the other side of the planet, and for the past year many of them have had to work alone from home through the night, grappling with frequent electricity outages, isolation from friends, and the snores of parents, partners, siblings, or children crammed into tight quarters. What comes after Covid-19 is likely to be even worse.
The lockdowns of the past year have accelerated the shift to greater automation in responding to inquiries to lenders, insurers, and telecom operators. Callers looking for assistance with a bill or bank statement increasingly communicate with artificial-intelligence-powered bots. And when they do connect with a human, it’s more frequently in a chat window with someone who’s engaged in multiple conversations at once.

Source text - English Even as Washington champions energy independence and warns European allies against becoming too dependent on Moscow, American refineries are buying more of the country’s oil than ever before.
The oil tankers docking at the refinery in Baytown, Texas, look exactly like many others plying the waters of the Houston Ship Channel. But stashed inside their capacious holds is an unusual cargo: Russian petroleum.
The sprawling complex, which belongs to Exxon Mobil Corp., isn’t the only U.S. refinery that’s been receiving shipments of Russian oil. Chevron Corp.’s plant in Mobile, Ala., and Valero Energy Corp.’s facility in St. Charles, La., are also customers.
Deprived of access to Venezuelan crude by U.S. sanctions on the regime of Nicolás Maduro, and facing reduced shipments from OPEC nations since the cartel cut output, U.S. refiners turned to Russian oil in 2020 to fill the gap. The buying spree, combined with sharply lower Saudi shipments, catapulted Russia into the position of third-largest oil supplier to the U.S. last year. The feat for the Kremlin has been the talk of the oil market, but surprisingly it hasn’t been discussed much in diplomatic circles. “Russia’s move into third place has not attracted any attention in Washington,” says Bob McNally, a former senior White House policy adviser who now runs Rapidan Energy Group, a consulting firm in Washington.

وأوضح المكتب أن هيئة "منشآت" تكفلت بتنفيذ المبادرات الأربع الأولى، فيما ستوفر المبادرة الخامسة قروضا ذات فوائد منخفضة لتمويل المشاريع التنموية، في الصحة والسياحة والتطوير العقاري والتعليم ذات الأثر الاقتصادي المرتفع من خلال صندوق دعم المشاريع.
وستكون المبادرة الأخيرة في قطاع المقاولات، لتحفيز تقنيات البناء لمساعدة مصنّعيها على إنشاء وتوسيع حجم أعمالهم بقائمة محفّزات مالية وغير مالية، للمساهمة في زيادة السعة الإنتاجية للمساكن، ورفع الأثر على سلسلة الإمداد، والمساعدة على بناء القدرات المحلّية وتوطين صناعة تقنية البناء.
Translation - English The office of the private sector stimulus plan called on investors, companies and small and medium enterprises to take advantage of the initiatives it launched - to mitigate the impact of the Corona virus pandemic - which comes in implementation of the directives of the government of Saudi Arabia, with a value of more than 36 billion Saudi Riyals.
The office explained that the "Enterprises" authority has undertaken the implementation of the first four initiatives, while the fifth initiative will provide low-interest loans to finance the development of projects in the health, tourism, real estate development as well as education with a high economic impact through the Project Support Fund.
The last initiative in the contracting sector will be to stimulate construction technologies to help its manufacturers establish and expand the volume of their business with a list of financial and non-financial incentives, to contribute to increasing the production capacity of housing, raise the impact on the supply chain, and help build local capacities and localize the construction technology industry.
