Pelvic pain is common in pregnant women and involves pain in the posterior pelvic joints (SI joints) and/or the anterior pelvic joints (symphysis). To this day, the terms jointlessness or pelvic dislocation are still used when talking about pelvic pain, which tends to scare women unnecessarily.
