Source text - Uzbek Central Asia is a geographical region under transition that suffers from both, environmental pollution as well as over - aged technology with increased energy use and promising Renewable energy potential. The EU has implemented a lot of effort in this region in the framework of several programmes like Tempus and Tacis to link academic institutions with European ones, to set-up new institutional organizations and to promote efficient energy technologies and to reduce environmental impact. A project entitled “Tempus Energy Networking towards Central Asia“ (TEN), was financed by the European Union during the period of 2002 – 2004.
The objective of this project was to create a viable association among the energy Departments of ten Universities from EU, Eastern Europe and Central Asia and to ensure the sustainability of this mechanism and its expansion towards additional countries of Central Asia. The specific objectives of the project were multiple and contributed to: Energy and environmental education and training, Exchange of information on energy field, Promotion of energy saving, Increase the numbers of successful renewable energy applications and consequently provided a cleaner environment and Environmental and sustainable development
Translation - Russian Центральная Азия является географическим регионом, находящимся под преобразованием, и она страдает как от загрязнения окружающей среды, так и от устаревших технологий с большим потреблением энергии и перспективным потенциалом Возобновляемых источников энергии. ЕС приложил много усилий в этом регионе в рамках нескольких программ, каких как «Tempus» и «Tacis» для установления контактов академических институтов с европейскими, для создания новых институциональных организаций и продвижения энергоэффективных технологий и для снижения воздействия на окружающую среду. Проект под названием «Темпус, установление энергетической связи в направлении Центральной Азии» (TEN), финансировался Европейским Союзом в период 2002-2004 годов.
Целью данного проекта было создание жизнеспособной ассоциации между факультетами энергетики десяти университетов из стран ЕС, Восточной Европы и Центральной Азии и обеспечение устойчивости этого механизма, и его распространение на другие страны Центральной Азии. Конкретные цели проекта были многочисленны и способствовали Энергетическому и экологическому образованию и обучению, Обмену информацией в сфере энергетики, Продвижению энергосбережения, Увеличению числа успешных применений возобновляемых источников энергии и, следовательно, обеспечивших более чистую окружающую среду и Защите окружающей среды и устойчивого развития.
