We are asking you to be in a research study initiated and funded by XXX. Before you participate in this study, it is important that you read (or have read to you) and understand the information in this document.
An Independent Ethics Committee approved this clinical study. This is an independent group of experts who make sure that the rights, safety, and well-being of human subjects in a study are protected.
Participating in this study is your choice. You should discuss any questions you have with the study doctor. You must sign this document if you want to be in this study. By signing this document, you will not give up any legal rights that you may have (as a research subject) under federal or state laws and regulations. No study procedures will be started before you sign this document.
MAIN INCLUSION AND EXCLUSION CRITERIA:
If you have been diagnosed with schizophrenia and meet all of the criteria listed below, you are eligible to participate in the study. At the discretion of your study doctor, however, you may be excluded from the study even if you meet the criteria. If you do not meet one or more of the inclusion criteria or meet one or more of the exclusion criteria, please tell your study doctor.
To confirm that you meet the selection criteria for the study, your medical history and test results obtained prior to your consent to participate in the study will be reviewed.
You will receive examinations again 1 week after starting to use the study drug and approximately 7 weeks later. Your study doctor will then decide on your participation in the study based on the condition of your disease.
If your study doctor decides that you can continue participation in the study, you will continue to receive the study drug.
