Source text - French Je n'avais pas d'autre avenir que le prochain coup de téléphone fixant un rendez-vous. J’essayais de sortir le moins possible en dehors de mes obligations professionnelles - dont il avait les horaires- craignant toujours de manquer un appel de lui pendant mon absence. J'évitais aussi d'utiliser l'aspirateur ou le sèche-cheveux qui m’auraient empêchée d’entendre la sonnerie. Celle-ci me ravageait d’un espoir qui ne durait souvent que le temps de saisir lentement l'appareil et de dire allô. En découvrant que ce n'était pas lui, je tombais dans une telle déception que je prenais en horreur la personne au bout du fil. Dès que j'entendais la voix de A.. mon attente indéfinie, douloureuse, jalouse évidemment, se néantisait si vite que j’avais l’ impression d'avoir été folle et de redevenir subitement normale.
Translation - Greek Δεν είχα άλλο μελλοντικό σχέδιο πέραν του προσεχούς τηλεφωνήματος για να κανονίσουμε ραντεβού. Προσπαθούσα να ξεφεύγω όσο το δυνατόν λιγότερο εκτός των επαγγελματικών μου υποχρεώσεων – των οποίων είχε τα χρονοδιαγράμματα - πάντοτε φοβούμενη, μην τυχόν και χάσω ένα τηλεφώνημα του κατά τη διάρκεια της απουσίας μου. Επίσης, απέφευγα να χρησιμοποιώ την ηλεκτρική σκούπα ή το σεσουάρ μαλλιών που θα με εμπόδιζε από το άκουσμα του τηλεφώνου. Η προσδοκία αυτή με έκανε ράκος Αυτό, εξαφάνιζε την ελπίδα που διαρκούσε μόλις μέχρι να πιάσω αργά τη συσκευή και να αναφωνήσω παρακαλώ. Την στιγμή που ανακάλυπτα ότι δεν ήταν αυτός, βυθιζόμουν σε μία τέτοια απογοήτευση , όπου αντιμετώπιζα με απέχθεια το άτομο στην άλλη γραμμή του τηλεφώνου. Μόλις άκουγα τη φωνή του Α., η ακαθόριστη, επώδυνη, ζηλόφθονη προσμονή μου φυσικά και εξαλειφόταν τόσο γρήγορα που αισθανόμουν σαν τρελή που ξαφνικά είχε βρει τα λογικά της.
