I would like to offer my skills and talents as an English-Russian
translator and interpreter.
I live in Oregon, USA now, in a close proximity to Portland. I have been determined
as Qualified and in the Healthcare Interpreters registry of the Oregon Health
Authority (my number is 114193).
I am native Russian living
and working in the US for about 30 years. I have been working here at
post-doctoral scientific research positions and later, during the last 15
years, I have been focusing on interpreting and translating free-lance work in
medical and social fields. During last 10 years I have been working in
Healthcare Interpreting in the San Francisco Bay area on a contract with
several language services companies.
I have started acquiring my
experience in translation, interpreting and referent work since 80-ies in
Russia at the VINITI institute and scientific conferences. Although my college
education and degrees are in life sciences, I had an early childhood start in
English language studies at a school with advance language specialization. That has opened me better opportunities for
advancing in language proficiency further through college and graduate school.
Academic research both in
Russia and in the US included a lot of time working with publications –
writing, editing, and proofreading, which has become later a transferable
experience.
My Russian is intact. It is
our everyday language at home, plus media, visiting to Russia often, seeing old
friends, which helps keeping my Russian language intact, alive and updated.
If you need an honest and diligent person to work with, here I am.
