The endogenous hyaluronic acid is primarily synthesised by synoviocytes, in addition to, although to a lesser extent, by chondrocytes. In osteoarthritis patients, the synovial fluid shows a lower concentration of endogenous hyaluronic acid; therefore, the lubricant effect and the viscoelastic properties of the synovial fluid are reduced, since the synovial fluid, being a viscous fluid present in the joint cavity, lubricates and nourishes the joint cartilage, thus reducing the friction between the joint surfaces, and facilitating movement of the joint. The preferred route for administration of hyaluronic acid in the treatment of osteoarthritis is intra-articular. The action of intra-articular hyaluronic acid lies in the improvement of the mobility of joints having a degenerate cartilage surface and synovial fluid alterations.

La cuenta atrás para la llegada del invierno ha comenzado. Estos meses previos ofrecen una gran variedad gastronómica gracias a la gran cantidad de alimentos nuevos con los que nos obsequia la naturaleza. Por eso, no queremos despedir el otoño sin ofrecer recetas con los productos típicos españoles de esta estación.
El otoño va mucho más allá, llega el frío y con ello apetece comida caliente y de cuchara. Las bajas temperaturas hacen necesario la ingesta de platos más calóricos que en verano, pero también existen muchas verduras que aparecen con el mes de octubre, siendo la época del año con más abanico de productos: castañas, boniatos, calabazas, legumbres, frutos secos, coles, etc.
Sobre todo, es la época de las setas y las trufas; son alimentos con altas propiedades medicinales, además de culinarias, que permiten la creación de miles de recetas diferentes. En temporadas lluviosas, las cosechas son más ricas, pero hay que conocerlas bien y saber distinguirlas. De lo contrario, existe el riesgo de intoxicarse. Las más típicas de nuestro entorno son: la amanita cesárea, popularmente ou de reig, de olor suave y sabor dulce, el boleto edulis, conocido también como hongos o ceps, que pueden comerse crudos o cocinados, los rovellones, típicos de las tierras catalanas, la trompeta amarilla, muy apreciada por los gastrónomos, la trompeta de los muertos, muy cotizada en los últimos años, y los gurumelos, sabor intenso propio de Andalucía.
En cuanto a la fruta, hay que remarcar que es el mejor momento de los cítricos (mandarinas, limones y naranjas), pero también que es la llegada de los membrillos (ideal para mermeladas y postres), las granadas y las chirimoyas. Además de los frutos secos de cosecha, como las almendras, nueces, etc.
También, es la mejor época de caza; conejo, jabalí, ciervos, perdices y cerdo. Muchas de las recetas tradicionales de esta temporada son elaboradas con guisos de setas, alcachofas, y castañas. Nuevos sabores para añadir a los platos, haciéndolos más apetitosos y sanos.

The countdown to winter has begun. These pre-Christmas months serve up a great variety of dishes due to a wide range of new foods gifted to us by nature. Therefore, we don’t want to say farewell to autumn without offering up recipes with traditional Spanish seasonal products.
Autumn goes a step further: the cold sets in and we crave spoonfuls of hot food. The low temperatures also mean we need to eat more calorific foods than in summer, but there are several vegetables that appear in October, which is the time of the year with the widest range of products: chestnuts, sweet potato, pumpkins, pulses, dried fruits, sprouts, etc.
Above all, it’s the season of mushrooms and truffles: foods that boast both medicinal and culinary properties, and which allow the creation of thousands of different recipes. In rainy seasons, harvests are richer, but we need to know them well and how to distinguish between them. Otherwise, we risk poisoning ourselves. The most common in our region are: the Amanita cesarea, or Caesar’s mushroom, with a gentle smell and sweet taste, the Boleto edulis, also known as porcini or cep, which can be eaten raw or cooked, rovellones, common in Catalonia, the trompeta amarilla, or Yellow Foot, highly rated by foodies, the trompeta de los muertos, or Cantharellus cinereus, and gurumelos, with a distinctive, intense flavour from Andalusia.
Concerning fruit, it should be noted that this is the best time of the year for citric products (mandarins, lemons and oranges), and for quinces (great for jams and desserts), pomegranates and custard apples, in addition to nuts, such as almonds, walnuts, etc.
It is also the best season for game meat: rabbit, wild boar, deer, partridge and swine. Many traditional seasonal recipes are prepared in stews with mushrooms, artichokes and chestnuts. New flavours to add to the dishes, making them tastier and healthier.

Gartner analiza las diez tendencias tecnológicas que según su previsión influirán en el desarrollo de los negocios digitales
La fusión de los mundos reales y virtuales, la creciente presencia de la inteligencia en todas partes, y el impacto de las TI en el desarrollo del negocio digital son los tres ejes principales de las que, según la consultora Gartner, serán las 10 tendencias tecnológicas que marcarán este año, y que detallamos a continuación:
1 – Computación omnipresente: Los dispositivos en sí dejarán de centrar toda la atención. El énfasis estará cada vez más en el contexto, es decir, en atender las necesidades de los usuarios móviles en diversos ámbitos.
2 – El ‘Internet de las Cosas’: Junto con la computación orientada al usuario también crecerá el Internet de las Cosas, llegando a ser el centro del negocio digital. Según Gartner, todo se unirá en 4 modelos de uso básicos: administrar, monetizar, operar y ampliar.
3- Impresión 3D a bajo coste: Se prevé una reducción de su coste en los próximos 3 años que llevará a un rápido crecimiento del mercado de los dispositivos de bajo coste.
4- Analítica avanzada, penetrante e invisible: El crecimiento del Internet de las cosas y de los dispositivos tecnológicos integrados contribuirá en la creación de grandes volúmenes de datos estructurados y no estructurados. Como resultado, las tecnologías analíticas se integrarán, de manera invisible, en todas las aplicaciones. Gartner destaca que las organizaciones tienen que hacer frente a la gestión de estas enormes cantidades de datos y ofrecer la información correcta a las personas adecuadas, en el momento adecuado.
5- Sistemas de seguridad sensibles al contexto: La fusión de la inteligencia integrada y el sistema de análisis generalizado impulsará el desarrollo de sistemas de seguridad sensibles al contexto.
6- Máquinas inteligentes: Las aplicaciones analíticas junto con la comprensión del contexto favorecerán la aparición de algoritmos avanzados que permitan a los sistemas aprender por sí mismos y actuar sobre los aprendizajes asimilados. Así, vehículos autónomos o asistentes personales virtuales marcarán la era de las máquinas inteligentes.

9- Tecnologías de la información a escala web: Se trata de un concepto acuñado por la propia Gartner para describir los nuevos procesos y métodos que han aplicado grandes suministradores de servicios cloud como Google, Facebook o Amazon para obtener una mayor agilidad de la capacidad de computación. La tendencia será que cada vez más empresas adopten arquitecturas, procesos y prácticas similares. Según los analistas, el primer paso en la evolución a las tecnologías de la información a escala web se dará cuando se combine de manera coordinada el desarrollo y las operaciones (también conocido con el nombre de DevOps).

The merger of real and virtual worlds, the growing presence of intelligence everywhere, and the impact of IT on the development of e-business are the three main themes that, according to Gartner Consulting, will be the focus of the 10 technology trends that will define this year, and which are detailed below:
1 – Computers everywhere: Devices themselves will stop being the centre of all the attention. The emphasis will increasingly shift to context, meaning meeting the needs of mobile users in different environments.
2 – Internet of Things: Along with user-focused computing, the Internet of Things will also grow, becoming the centre of e-business. Gartner believes there will be four basic usage models: manage, monetise, operate and extend.
3- Low-cost 3-D printing: A reduction in cost is forecast for the next 3 years, which shall lead to rapid market growth for low cost devices.
4- Advanced, pervasive and invisible analytics: The growth of the Internet of Things and embedded systems will contribute towards the creation of large volumes of structured and unstructured data. Consequently, analytical technologies will be invisibly incorporated in all applications. Gartner emphasises that organisations must confront the handling of these enormous amounts of data and offer the correct information to the right people, at the right time.
5- Context-rich systems: The merger of integrated intelligence to general analytics systems will lead to the development of context-rich systems.
6- Smart machines: Analytics applications together with context-rich embedded systems will evolve into the appearance of advanced algorithms that allow systems to learn for themselves. Autonomous vehicles or virtual personal assistants will define the smart-machine era.
7- Cloud/client architecture: The analysts state that cloud’s new scalable style will define the development of internal and external applications. Mobile computing and computing will continue driving the growth of the central coordination applications. Another key area is that in the short-term, the cloud/client focus will be on content synchronisation and the simultaneous use of applications through multiple devices.
8- Software-defined infrastructure and applications: Software-defined networks, storage, data centres and security are evolving. Experts believe that fast programming, from basic infrastructure to applications, will allow organisations to obtain the flexibility necessary to ensure the functioning of the e-business.
9- Web-scale IT: This is a term coined by Gartner to describe the new processes and methods applied by large cloud service suppliers such as Google, Facebook or Amazon to obtain greater speed in computing capacity. The trend will increasingly be for companies to adopt architectures, processes and similar practices. The analysts believe the first step in the evolution of web-scale IT will come when development and operations are brought together in a coordinated way (also known as DevOps).
10 - Risk-based security and self-protection: Gartner’s analysis concludes that security will continue being a key factor in evolving towards the digital future, but it cannot be an obstacle impeding progress. In this sense, organisations will increasingly recognise that a 100%-safe environment cannot be provided, and as this happens on a wider scale, more sophisticated methods of evaluation and risk prevention will emerge.
