English to French: overweight influential factor General field: Medical Detailed field: Medical: Health Care
Source text - English The researchers, from University College London (UCL), said their findings contradict the common perception that "fat shaming" helps people lose weight.
They suggested that people may "comfort eat" as a result of being discriminated against because of their weight.
"There is no justification for discriminating against people because of their weight," said lead author Dr Sarah Jackson from UCL.
Our results show that weight discrimination does not encourage weight loss, and suggest that it may even exacerbate weight gain.
Previous studies have found that people who experience discrimination report comfort eating. Stress responses to discrimination can increase appetite, particularly for unhealthy, energy-dense food.
English to French: Drug Delivery System General field: Medical Detailed field: Medical (general)
Source text - English The X drug delivery system is a fully implantable and programmable method of continuous drug delivery.
Benefits of the X system:
• The programmability of the X system enables your doctor to tailor your therapy to best meet your needs.
• Programming technology allows dosing changes between refills to be made non-invasively.
• 20 mL and 40 mL pump reservoir sizes provide options to meet your preferences of size and refill schedules.
• The X infusion system offers precise, accurate dosing.
The X drug delivery system consists of:
• An implantable, programmable drug pump—A round, titanium, battery powered device that stores medication and delivers a prescribed amount into your body.
• Implantable catheter—A thin, flexible tube that connects to the pump.
The pump delivers medication through the catheter to a specific site in your spine.
If you and your physician decide that drug delivery therapy is right for you, your physician will work with you to select the system size that best meets your needs.
What Happens During the Implant Procedure?
During the surgical procedure, the doctor will form a pocket under the skin that is large enough to hold the pump. A second incision is made on the back, where one end of the catheter will be placed into the intrathecal space. The other end of the catheter is attached to the pump resulting in a fully implanted system. Once the pump and catheter are in place, the incisions are closed and the surgery is complete.
The length of your hospital stay will vary depending on your physician’s preference and insurance policies.
