English to Spanish: The Atmosphere and Climate. Page 307 General field: Science Detailed field: Environment & Ecology
Source text - English The Atmosphere and Climate.
We live at the bottom of a virtual ocean of air that extends upward about 500 km(300mi). In the lowest 10 to 20 km, a layer known as the troposphere, the air moves ceaselessly, flowing and swirling, and continually redistributing heat and moisture from one part of the globe to another. The composition and behaviour of the troposphere and other layers control our weather(daily temperature and moisture conditions in a place) and our climate(long-term weather patterns.)

English to Spanish: Translators in a changing China General field: Social Sciences
Source text - English In China, there are two new elements in the life of Chinese translators. One, there is now a burgeoning labour market in China and translators, like other professionals, can change jobs or take up second jobs which they could no do so easily before. Two, there is a much vaster translation market than ever before. This is a direct result of the government's more open trades policies, the economic boom, and the vastly increased scale of foreign investment in the country.
Spanish to English: A poem of André Cruchaga translated by Lidice Megla General field: Art/Literary
Translation - English EXTERNAL EXALTATION
Today I stick the world in my eyes, the crude world of the storages of litter, its ventriloquists, and corners of sawdust.
- Against the smoke statues just but the condition of being -,
the maddened flock of semaphores and extinct lovers, the junk stuck on the throat.
In what deprivation life ceases to be pathetic?
In what terrace is the phosphorescence of the moon heard,
the breathing broken by the dark games of children?
Now and again, I bring myself near Absence. Here I am, like an old sentinel.
Here I am, amidst madness and torture.
Sometimes, I can only distinguish the sound of shoes, the dead geometry of the scalpels,
a mortuary lily, or a wallflower of rare language, and an ambiguous grave of dreamless attics.
I suppose, it is always possible to walk among sarcasm and the old compulsiveness of survival’s own facades.

Lidice Megla: Cuban-Canadian published author and poet. Winner of the International Poetry Contest, "El Mundo lleva Alas", 2018. "Voces de Hoy" Miami, Fl. Her books are available in Amazon. Her poems and interviews have been published in magazines and literary articles.
1991- Bachelor of Education specializing in Foreign Language Teaching (Institute of Pedagogical Sciences " Félix Varela Morales" Villa Clara, Cuba.) in 1991, Shortly after I published several materials on Communicative Grammar, Linguistics and Phonetics, but since my early years as a professor I collaborated with fellow colleagues and teachers creating and developing a series of workshops dedicated to rising the interest and love for Literature in younger generations of readers by studying and dispersing it among them, the works of universal authors. These efforts were awarded by the Ministry of Education of Cuba, but most importantly they awoke in me a passion for translation and the written word - I have been doing so ever since.
I have worked as an accredited translator and interpreter for the Refugee Protection Division and CIC of Vancouver and Edmonton since 2003. With areas of expertise ranging from Holistic and Natural Medicine to Legal and Literary, I work on the language pairs Spanish-English and vice verse. As a Nutritionist and Natural Health Consultant, I owned Radiant Health Wellness Center in AB, a small clinic devoted to natural detoxification methods, holistic counselling and healthy nutrition, where I tried to inspire women and men from the community to take care of themselves in a more holistic way. My high degree of professionalism, out going personality, and respect for all cultures and human beings got me to be invited to host the International Youth Festival in Edmonton in the year 2003, where I represented and guided the Youth from Spanish Speaking countries and served as a translator and interpreter.
I assisted Croatian-Canadian author, Marijan Megla in revising and editing his works "Gypsy Messenger" and "The Violin." From 1996 to 2000, and worked as a translator and interpreter Presently I am an Associate Member of the America Translators Association and Member in good standing of TESL Canada (Teaching English as a Second Lang.)
I believe in the exponential professional and personal growth that entails working with the phenomena of languages, and this represents to me an enjoyable challenge and passion!
I look forward to collaborate , share with and learn from you.
