English to German: Environmental Policy General field: Marketing Detailed field: Environment & Ecology
Source text - English Best4systems takes very seriously the effect that every action can have upon the environment. We have a commitment to continuous improvement.
The nature of a large part of our business is that we recycle used and unwanted equipment. Our process of buying those goods which people no longer want, and investing in making them fit for re-sale to other users, although unashamedly for profit, means that the lifespan of these units is greatly increased. This process in turn negates the need to introduce new equipment that has to be manufactured, and thus reduces the environmental impact.
In addition there are issues of recycling in house which we operate as company policy.
The company also prides itself in creating a minimal carbon footprint through its general working practices; streamlining logistics, processes and suppliers to minimise waste.
Best4systems strives towards educating its staff, suppliers, and customers, on understanding of environmental issues in the context of its business. Our collective is to ensure that we continually improve the environmental impact of our activities.
By this policy, Best4systems recognises its responsibility towards protection of the environment, and issues this statement as a commitment of both management and employees to minimising the environmental impact of its operations.

Experience
Years of experience: 16. Registered at ProZ.com: Nov 2009.
My name is Kristof Gluth, I am a certified translator and a German native speaker who returned to Germany in January 2010 from a one-year's stay in Haywards Heath, Sussex.
Within the past two years, I took part in a correspondence course at the German AKAD University, leading to the qualification as a state-certified translator in Germany, with a special emphasis on economics. In October 2009, I successfully passed the final exam in Germany.
Since November 2009, I am a member of BDÜ, a leading German translators association.
Since February 2010 sworn translator in Germany, entitled to provide certified translations.
The training as a translator provided me with excellent knowledge of the subtleties of my native language German, both in terms of grammar and of vocabulary. My spoken English is at this point fluent, not least due to my working experience in the UK since January 2009.
In the course of my career as a staff nurse in Germany, I acquired a sound knowledge of medical terminology (which is why my most important special field is naturally medicine) as well as the abilities of being self-organized and of having good multitasking skills.
Working in an office environment as a games tester gave me the opportunity to gain experience in the field of game software localisation.
