Source text - English Nowadays, it has become more and more essential to learn new languages apart from our mother tongue. Commerce is expanding rapidly in many countries in the world and the need for communication is increasing. However, it is not as easy as it sounds. In an ideal situation, we would open a book, read it and then magically we would be able to communicate fluently in a foreign language. Apparently, this is not the case. Learning a new language is a time consuming, tiring but in the end very rewarding process. Here are some Dos and Don’ts on how to learn a new language.
DO:
• Identify the purpose of learning a new language. A person, who knows exactly why they need the knowledge of a new language for, would be much more motivated. In order to progress and achieve your purpose, you should organize your study and most of all dedicate time. Infants and children are more capable in language acquisition but adults need more time and effort.
• Study the grammar of the new language. First you should start by learning some basic verbs and how they are formed in various tenses and structures. As you become more familiar with these and as you feel that you are taking the hang of it, then you should move on to more complex structures. Vocabulary is very important in learning a new language but it would be useless if you couldn’t incorporate it in grammatically correct sentences.

Το εμπόριο επεκτείνεται ραγδαία σε πολλές χώρες του κόσμου και η ανάγκη για επικοινωνία αυξάνεται. Ωστόσο, δεν είναι τόσο εύκολο όσο ακούγεται. • Μελέτησε τη γραμματική της καινούριας γλώσσας. Στην αρχή θα μπορούσες να ξεκινήσεις με το να μάθεις μερικά βασικά ρήματα και το πώς σχηματίζονται σε διάφορους χρόνους και συντακτικές δομές. Καθώς εξοικειώνεσαι περισσότερο με αυτά και καθώς αισθάνεσαι ότι παίρνεις τον αέρα, τότε θα μπορούσες να προχωρήσεις σε πιο σύνθετες συντακτικές δομές. Το λεξιλόγιο είναι πολύ σημαντικό στην εκμάθηση μιας καινούριας γλώσσας αλλά θα ήταν άχρηστο εάν δε μπορούσες να το ενσωματώσεις σε γραμματικά σωστές προτάσεις.
