My name is Hassan Sayed Mahmoud Shaaban. I was born on 19/9/1973 in Egypt. I'm an Arabic/ English translator. I'm currently working at a European embassy in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. I've got three academic degrees. First one in Arabic (Faculty of Dar Al Ulum for Arabic & Islamic Studies, Cairo University, Egypt, 1996). The second one in English (Faculty of Arts, English Department, Cairo University, Egypt, 2001). The third one is a post-graduate diploma in translation (Faculty of Arts, English Department, 2001). I started working as a teacher of Arabic and after getting my English degree I taught English at public schools in Egypt. I stared my career in translation while studying translation at Cairo University, Egypt. In December 2006, I came to Oman to work as an Arabic/English translator at a law office in Muscat. Then, I joined a European embassy in Muscat in April 2010. As a side business, I work as a freelance translator. This enabled me to have command of various fields of translation; ie legal, commercial, political, diplomatic, military, publicity, art, general translation, etc. I'm currently living in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.
