    This course was previously presented through eCPD Webinars.

    During this 3 part online workshop, participants will learn both the Spanish and English terms for a variety of legal terms, enabling them to complete a comprehensive glossary. The workshop will be interactive, including tests and polls throughout to encourage participant engagement. Finally, all participants will be provided with the opportunity to complete a Spanish>English legal translation sample, which will then be marked offline by the instructor, Suzanne Deliscar, a Canadian lawyer-linguist. Please note that the terminology discussed in this course would be terms used in the North American context.
    Target audience
    This course is intended for:
    Legal translators and lawyer-linguistswho want to start working in the legal translation field, those who have recently started and wish to receive feedback on their current Spanish-English translation skills.

    Bio: Suzanne Deliscar is both a lawyer and a Spanish and French to English translator. A graduate of McMaster University with a Combined Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Latin American Studies, and a minor in Science, Technology and Public Policy in 2000, Ms. Deliscar went on to obtain a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law in 2003. Ms. Deliscar was called to the Bar of the Province of Ontario in 2004 and has been actively practicing law on a full-time basis since that time. As a lawyer-linguist, Suzanne focuses on official document and legal translation, and also trains fellow language professionals in the areas of marketing and legal translation.
