No idea! November is starting busy as I’m translating 84 pages of legal documents related to child abduction. What will come next is always a great unknown, but usually November is rather busy and December very slow. We will see… | | | neilmac Spain Local time: 18:15 Spanish to English + ...
I'm saying a bit slow, because I haven't had many new jobs over the past week or so. However, knowing my luck and the way things usually go, as soon this long weekend in Spain is over, my inbox will probably perk up a bit and things will actually be back to normal. I'm actually quite enjoying having a less hectic time of it workwise, as it gives me more time to do other things. | | | Lieven Malaise Belgium Local time: 18:15 Member (2020) French to Dutch + ...
I never expect anything. I can't look into the future and there's always a possibility that one of your best clients leaves the industry or decides to dump you in favour of a cheaper translator because they have to cut costs. Late October/early November is a seasonally strong point for me, and business has been firm, as one might expect. Good flows up to the end of the month. Beyond that? Who knows.
Cautiously optimistic in the short term because many companies are flush with cash and happy to spend. Very cautious over the medium term, because I expect a recession that will put budgets (including translation budgets) under pressure. Companies are always slow to realise that the cycle has turned.
